Mechanics 10 Course Outline
Mechanics 10 is a competency-based course. This means that each task or unit must be completed to an acceptable level of competency or completion before credit will be given for it. In each unit, there may be several tasks - some theory and some hands-on – that must be completed in order.
Briggs & Stratton engine. This section is worth 50% of the mechanics portion of the course. All tasks in the first section are given a certain amount of time to be completed, which relates directly to the percent marks. If a task is worth 1.0 hour, then 1.0 percent is added to your final grade mark when you complete it.
The second section of the course deals with the repair and maintenance of an automobile. This section is also worth 50% of the course. Shop work relates directly to percent marks as well, so you get 1.0 percent for every shop hour that you work. You must record your shop work on a time sheet for every hour that you work, and have it checked by your teacher.
